Russian Days 2008

RUSSIAN DAYS 2008 Summary

Thousands of people came out to St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox church for the 27th annual Russian Days Festival that took place over the 3 day weekend of September 5, 6 & 7th.

Friday was an extraordinary turnout.  The food lines, at times, had a 25 minute wait as people patiently lined up onto the grass area and out to the parking lot. One thing for sure is that the festival has become well known to area residents for its excellent ethnic foods and home-baked goods.  In spite of bad weather on Saturday, many Friday customers came back for seconds and some weathered the storm coming out for the first time.  The sun shone brightly on Sunday and again we had a great turnout. The polka bands played, visitors danced and enjoyed great foods and fellowship.
